This Slow Cooker Chocolate Chili is a fun twist on the traditional dish. The cocoa powder helps to round out the flavors and adds a unique depth. The slow cooker makes the whole meal a super simple weeknight dinner.

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 28-ounce can crushed tomatoes
- 1½ tablespoons chili powder
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoons cumin
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 2 15-ounce cans red beans, drained
Directions
Start by browning meat and onion in a medium saucepan.
Once the meat is browned, drain meat and place in slow cooker.
Add crushed tomatoes, chili powder, salt, cumin and cocoa powder to the slow cooker. Mix together well.
Finally, add drained beans and combine gently.
Turn slow cooker on low for 8 to 10 hours.
Serve warm with your favorite chili toppings, like cheese, sour cream or chives.
