There’s no need to order takeout when you can whip up this easy recipe for baked gluten-free mozzarella sticks.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons gluten-free flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup gluten-free breadcrumbs
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 12 sticks string cheese, removed from packaging
- Cooking spray
Directions
Put the flour and the eggs in shallow bowls. Place the breadcrumbs on a large plate and mix in the salt, garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
Line a medium-sized baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll a string cheese stick in the flour and then coat with the eggs. Coat in breadcrumbs, place back in the egg bowl, and then finish with a second coat of breadcrumbs. Place on the baking sheet and repeat with all remaining cheese sticks.
Once finished, refrigerate mozzarella sticks for at least one hour. Preheat oven to 425° F. Spray the top of the mozzarella sticks with cooking spray and then bake for 5-7 minutes, until cheese is melted and outside is crispy. Enjoy with marinara sauce, if desired.
