Cranberry Sauce

Serves 6

Frozen cranberries, lemon zest, sugar and water combine to make the best cranberry sauce around. This cranberry sauce is great with roast turkey but might be even better the day after the holiday on turkey sandwiches. This recipe is also vegan and nut free.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound frozen cranberries
  • ¾ cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 lemon

Directions

Place frozen cranberries in a medium pot. Pour in water and bring to a simmer over medium high heat.

Add sugar and stir well. Lower the heat to medium and continue to stir every few minutes.

Add the juice and zest of one lemon and continue to mix. Simmer for about 10 minutes or until desired consistency is reached. Sauce will continue to thicken while it cools.
