This delicious and healthful oatmeal will fill you up without weighing you down, helping you get ready for the day ahead.
Ingredients
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats, gluten-free certified
- ⅔ cup grated carrots
- ¼ cup chopped walnuts
- 2 tablespoons coconut sugar or brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
- ⅛ teaspoon ground cloves
Directions
Place 2 cups of water and the salt in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Once boiling, add the oats and carrots. Reduce to a simmer and cook for 15-20 minutes, until desired consistency is reached, stirring occasionally.
Once oatmeal is finished cooking, stir in the remaining ingredients and serve while hot.
