Sunshine Smoothie

Smoothies are a fun and easy breakfast treat. This recipe makes a pretty two-layer smoothie that looks like the sunrise. If you don’t feel like making two layers, combine all ingredients in the blender and process until smooth.

Ingredients

  • FOR THE CHERRY LAYER
  • 2 cups frozen dark cherries
  • ¾ cup almond or traditional milk, plus additional as needed
  • ½ tsp. vanilla extract
  • FOR THE MANGO LAYER
  • 2 cups frozen mango pieces
  • ½ cup almond or traditional milk, plus additional as needed

Directions

Prepare the cherry smoothie first. Combine all ingredients in the jar of blender. Blend until smooth, about one minute. If smoothie seems thick, add an additional 2 tablespoons milk. Divide smoothie evenly between two glasses.

Prepare the mango smoothie next. Rinse blender jar with water. Combine all ingredients in the jar of blender. Blend until smooth, about one minute. If smoothie seems thick, add an additional 2 tablespoons milk. Spoon mango smoothie over the cherry layer.
