Loose lemon leaves may be mixed with lemon verbena, which is always tasty. This flavor combination makes a thirst-quenching summer drink. As with all brews, drink at least 32 ounces a day for best results.
A good-quality lemon infusion with blackberries contains polyphenolic antioxidants, such as anthocyanin pigments, which are associated with optimal health. This infusion boosts the immune system, protects the heart, decreases inflammation, regulates hormones, prevents nausea and gastrointestinal issues and helps with weight control.
Ingredients
- 24 ounces filtered water
- 2 tablespoons loose lemon tea, or 2 lemon tea bags
- 5 to 7 blackberries
- 2 lemon slices
Directions
Place the water and loose tea or tea bags in a lidded mason jar and refrigerate for 6 hours or overnight. Strain out the tea or remove the bags. Add the blackberries and muddle them to release some of the juices. Squeeze the juice from the lemon slices into the infusion and place the lemon slices into the container as well. After 2 hours, remove rinds so as not to bitter the infusion.
