Ann Whelan, Founder

Ann brings together first-hand knowledge of celiac disease and extensive experience in journalism and publishing. She has worked for health-related magazines, helping to launch five publications before she founded Gluten-Free Living. Ann, who was diagnosed with celiac disease 22 years ago, received a master’s degree in journalism from Temple University and a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Hunter College. A voracious reader and yoga enthusiast, she has two grown children, Andrew and Caryn, and five grandchildren.  ann@glutenfreeliving.com

Amy Ratner, Editor

Amy was a newspaper reporter, magazine editor and freelance writer before joining Gluten-Free Living. She received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Pennsylvania State University and has won several newspaper writing awards. Active in the gluten-free community, she has spoken frequently about ingredients, labeling laws, and lifestyle topics. Her daughter, Amanda, was diagnosed with celiac disease 21 years ago. Hillary writes articles and web content for several Madavor Media publications including The WriterArt Business News and Gluten-Free Living. She is also a freelance journalist and fiction writer, living near Boston while she completes her first novel. Nicole Sage, Art Director and Designer

Nicole brings 10+ years of design experience to Madavor Media. Working specifically on JazzTimes and Gluten-Free Living magazines, she overseas each issue from concept to completion. Photo shoots; cover design, page layout, ad creation/placement, prepress procedures and preparing the magazines for our digital platforms are just some of Nicole’s daily activities in the office. Nicole received her master’s degree in Graphic Design from Boston University. She also is a freelance designer living in Boston with her husband, two cats and a turtle. nsage@madavor.com
